Karsa has joined the workshop on the analysis of chemical warfare agents dedicated to the 50th anniversary of VERIFIN.
VERIFIN is an institute based at the University of Helsinki, which develops identification methods for chemical warfare agents and promotes the disarmament of chemical weapons.
Ambassador Fernando Arias, OPCW Director-General, and Minister for foreign affairs Elina Valtonen gave keynote speeches identifying challenges related to rapid development of technologies and AI, and highlighting the importance of close cooperation to ensure safety from chemical weapons.
Karsa’s CEO HJ Jost talked about innovative techniques being developed at Karsa to detect and identify chemical weapons agents with sample analysis times of minutes instead of 8 or more hours, even in complex sample matrices. Similar results have been achieved in the analysis of pesticides.
During several days of the workshop Karsa engaged with experts in the field of warfare agent detection and discussed how Karsa’s approach could help to address real world problems. We look forward to continue these conversations.
